How FinVault handles app data, local storage, cloud sync, receipts, and safety.

Overview

FinVault is designed to help users manage personal finance records with local-first and optional cloud-sync choices. This policy explains what data the app may collect, why it is used, and how users can control it.

Information FinVault May Collect

How Data Is Used

Data is used to provide app functionality such as record keeping, reports, search, backups, local storage, optional cloud sync, security reminders, and account access.

Local Mode

In Local Mode, records are stored on the user's device. If PIN/encryption is enabled, forgetting the PIN may make local encrypted data unrecoverable without a JSON backup.

Cloud Sync

When Cloud Sync is used, app data is associated with the authenticated account and stored using Firebase services. Cloud access is protected by authentication and security rules.

Receipt Photos

Receipt photo upload is disabled in the current export-only version. If this feature is added later, users should not upload documents containing OTP, UPI PIN, card PIN, CVV, bank password, or other sensitive banking secrets.

Data Sharing

FinVault does not sell user personal information or financial records. FinVault does not share user data with third parties for advertising. Data may be processed by infrastructure providers used to run the app, such as Firebase, for app functionality.

What FinVault Does Not Collect

Data Deletion

Users can delete records and profiles inside the app where available. Users can request deletion of cloud account data using the Delete Account page.
